Many crimes and social problems are caused by children. Despite the damage these teenage criminals cause, parents are not held responsible in most countries. This essay will discuss whether parents should be forced to pay for their children’s crimes.
There are many reasons why parents should not be responsible for crimes committed by teenage children. First of all, teenagers today are independent. They often move out of the parent’s house at 18 years of age or younger. They are expected to learn to take care of themselves and make their own decisions, and not stay like small children attached to their parents. Secondly, parents are working. They cannot watch their adolescent children all the time. A third point is that even children from good families can sometimes commit crimes. Parents should not be responsible if they have worked hard to raise their children properly.
However, because of the many problems young troublemakers cause, I feel we should make parents responsible. Firstly, most juvenile crimes are committed by adolescents whose parents do not care or make any effort to control their children. If parents had to pay fines, they might make more effort. Another point is that even though the children may seem mature, they are not really able to make good decisions. Parents should be responsible for raising and teaching their children until they are fully grown. Furthermore, if children know that their parents will have to pay, they will think carefully before doing getting into trouble
In summary, there are good reasons both for and against making parents pay for acts committed by their children. However, I feel strongly that if we want to reduce the number of such crimes, we need to make parents take more responsibility.

The problem with this, is my future step child stole hand guns from me from a locked room in a locked box. I thought if this kid is capable of doing this she is capable of doing anything. Am I to be held liable, well if the police would of questioned the little tramp, then maybe I might of got some justice. She then moved out and then the youngest daughter started her dumb ignorance and then I was stolen from daily. At the end of 2007 I lost over 2000 dollars worth of stuff.
I then moved to another place and told the youngest daughter not to have any one here, I then found out she was pulling the same ignorance as she was in town. I told her if she wanted to bring drug heads into my house then she isn’t to have any one here at all. She went into a rage and then told me she was going to burn down my house and have me stolen from.
2 weeks later I was stolen from. She begged to move back in 2 weeks later and I said no at first, I then agreed and then she wouldn’t go to school even though she was ordered, but the system kept wanting to put the blame on the mother. She moved in with her boyfriend and we ended up paying child support.
To make a long story short, I would of not of filed unruly charges on her in the first place if I knew the system was going to be this bad and secondly if she was taking the blame for her actions, we would of had less of a problem from her.
life was like a chess game with these kids they would make a move and it would be a bad choice, the only problem was that they never got into trouble for there actions. They need a scape goat and the parent was it.
I will say one more things about the comment if parents have to pay, children might think secondly about there actions, bull shit. The kid wants to date a punk they will stomp the living crap out of the parent to do so, check out the little girl in florida by the name of valessa robinson and then this is what you get. I’m not going to say a parent isn’t completely irresponsible for a childs actions, all I am saying is if a child is held 0% reliable for there actions then you get no results that is what I am saying a kid doesn’t want to go to school then what is the parent suppose to do. People want to give advice but they don’t have any answers.
I have done a lot of research and I came to a conclusion that the reason kids did what they did was because they didn’t care about there actions and they didn’t get into trouble. This is the number one reason kids are out of control they have no fear.
I thought the parent accountability act was a joke in a way, In other ways it might be okay if you know your child is drinking beer what do you do? If you know your child is smoking weed what do you do?
If you press charges on a child and then the only thing that is done is paying child support, then these are not options, Is the weed cheaper than the child support dear, lets do some figuring. They don’t want you to touch your child and grounding a child that runs away every time you apply a rule, because she thinks that the world should be rule free. She moved out because where she went there was no rules.
Back in the old days if she pulled this stunt she would of have to of pulled off something like getting a job and paying her way through life. The world is base on common since and not some over price bachelors degree.
