All you need to certify yourself
4 May
If you are into the field of Cisco networks or you are going for any Cisco certification, subnetting is the absolute topic which you need to master. Training yourself for fast subnetting techniques is a topic that I will cover later but now I am listing some Network Subnet Calculators that you can use to verify your results if you’re preparing for a certification or else you can plan your subnets if you’re practically implementing subnets.
The first one is the online IP subnet calculator. This is easy if you don’t want to download or install anything on your system. This tool is online and is very handy in calculating different subnet with lots of options.

You can take either of the following paths in achieving your certification:
1) Single Exam
Exam # 640-802
2) Two Exams
Exam # 640-822 ICND1
Exam # 640-816 ICND2
Syllabus of each is described below:
1) Syllabus for Single Exam (640-802) :-
The following topics are general guidelines for the content likely to be included on the Cisco Certified Network Associate exam. However, other related topics may also appear on any specific delivery of the exam. In order to better reflect the contents of the exam and for clarity purposes, the guidelines below may change at any time without notice.

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP®) validates knowledge and skills required to install, configure and troubleshoot converged local and wide area networks with 100 to 500 or more nodes. With a CCNP certification, a network professional demonstrates the knowledge and skills required to manage the routers and switches that form the network core, as well as edge applications that integrate voice, wireless, and security into the network. The CCNP curriculum includes building scalable Cisco networks, Cisco multilayer switched networks, securing converged wide area networks, and optimizing converged networks. (source:www.cisco.com)

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA®) validates the ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium-size route and switched networks, including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN. CCNA curriculum includes basic mitigation of security threats, introduction to wireless networking concepts and terminology, and performance-based skills. This new curriculum also includes (but is not limited to) the use of these protocols: IP, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Serial Line Interface Protocol Frame Relay, Routing Information Protocol Version 2 (RIPv2),VLANs, Ethernet, access control lists (ACLs).
